Hallo.

We hade a very busy week this last week. And then the new mission President is coming in tomorrow. It is going to be great. Also, I NEED to make clear that three of M´s family members are now on baptismal date and this entire week they didn't smoke one time. They followed the smoke program from the church and they were able to quit in 7 days just like that. That in and of itself is such a miracle and such a blessing to have seen. That the Lord really does carry our weaknesses when we allow him to and give him our lives. Alles vermag ich durch ihn der mir kraft gibt. I only know that scripture in German off the top of my head its in philliper 4:13. The gospel works miracles however we want it to in our lives when we JUST allow it. Also my new companion is elder Houghton from Potato state. IDAHO. woooo. haha. He is a cool guy and I am excited to work with him. He only has three transfers left on his mission. Anyways it was a good week and I had a good time.

I was able to learn so much from much studies this last week. But what really stuck out to me was the fact that ALL of our negative thoughts and things that bring us down, come from the devil. Those aren't just weaknesses that our Heavenly Father give us. Because thoughts and feelings are things that WE can change for ourselves and also mostly come automatically but when we follow Christ and have faith on him, these negatives can be made positive and also into strengths. Satan doesn't want us to be happy and I know that he does all he can to make us feel miserable through our thoughts. But through our faith and through our actions to follow Christ, it allows us to be filled with the spirit. And that is where our Agency comes in to play. We are able to chose what kind of faith we want to have according to our actions that we give in our daily lives.  A happy life comes from agency. We are agents and not objects. And objects cant do anything for themselves. This entire thought process came through reading Moroni 7 and it ends with talking about charity. Charity is the most important attribute and one of the hardest to develop. But I know that through our faith on Christ and through our correct actions in our daily life that we can be so happy. I love the gospel more than anything and it only makes sense when we study it and live by the precepts given to us. I always love saying that the gospel is a never ending process of a slowly but surely progression. And that's when we will learn most of our patience in this life. I love the gospel. It just turns in circles and never stops having a positive effect on our lives.  Have a great week! :)

The Call Came.

Family...

I really don't have a lot of time this week because my companion is getting transferred  out of Berlin and I am just saying bye to him and getting him ready to leave. I cant explain how great it has been to be with him. I really couldn't have imagined our relationship and friendship coming to this point with seeing what happened in the first couple weeks with us hahah. We are like best friends now. I know that the gospel really does make people love each other and brings us together. And I am so grateful that when we just allow ourselves to change that it is possible. We don't HAVE to be on a mission to change. We can change no matter what situations we are in in our lives. Let him work with you and your situations and you will never become a better person. I really know that we can reach our full potential when we just trust the Lord and let his perfect gospel change our imperfectness as people. Follow him and love him even when it may not seem to be possible. I will miss Elder Kramer Morton. He is a now such a great friend I will miss him for sure.

I will share one thing like I always do. :) The funny thing is... I think of this right off the top of my head hahaha. I never know what I want to say before until I feel prompted to say something. Okay.... This last Sunday in church they talked A LOT about the spirit. It was the main topic and I really really enjoyed what a few members said. "the only thing that counts in the work of the Lord, is the spirit." and "the spirit of the Lord in our daily lives is like being at a concert. If we WANT to hear our friend talking to us when its loud, we HAVE to tune everything out and listen intensively on what the spirit/person is saying to us." How bad do we want the spirit of the Lord through us in our lives? Is it a priority that the spirit leads us through everyday to make decisions and help with stress and things that bring us down? You know WE have the decision to let the spirit lead us in all we do. It just depends on what you want. Would you rather let things of the world distract you, than to take some time and listen to the still small voice that will tell you ALL THINGS what you should do? 2 Nephi 32:5  I promise that this time that we take for the Lord and for the spirit that we wont have our daily stress and frustrations that we ALL have. Then the spirit of the Lord is like it says in Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Yeah this life is a test. And it wont always be the easiest to want to listen to your friend during your favorite song of the concert. But you know what? Its worth it because in the end... its not about "me" and nothing should be. Just like the Lords task to suffer for every person wasn't about him. He did it because he loved us all. I promise when you try your hardest to listen to the spirit and tune in that you wont feel a bigger change in your life that you may need at any point and time. I love you all and hope you all continue to focus on the important little points of the gospel that bring us the most joy in life. Have an amazing week!

Best weeeek. Blesssed weeeek 6.08.2015

So I am very grateful for this last week. I really am sad though because our mission president will be leaving us in the next few weeks and we had our last conference together as missionaries. He is such a great guy and I was able to learn so much from him. I will have the next mission President for about 8 months so it will still be a good little chunk of time. Its always good for change in the mission but a change for mission presidents is definitely not the easiest haha. I will miss his wife sister Kosak too, she was great.

Besides that I had a good week and I also learned a few things along the way. One of them is in Helaman 5. It talks about "remembrance". Why is it sooooo important to remember the things that we are taught or the experiences we have with the gospel. And a remembrance will bring us to bringing forth good works and letting our light shine as latter day saints. Maybe if our thoughts are focused on Christ and we listen to the sacrament prayer that our remembrance on him will help us in times of need and support and even allow us to help others from our learned experiences in the gospel. Helaman 5:12 is such a good example of this parable. I know that as I have focused on experiences that I have had in the past and also think about how important remembrance actually is, that I have been blessed and enlightened with the love of Heavenly Father and on my previous experiences that I've had in the gospel. It makes since that we are "reminded" every week from the sacrament that we need to "think" on Jesus Christ. And if we do that, we will have the spirit to be with us. Im not saying think 24/7 on experiences that you have  had with the gospel, but when you are tempted, or you have hard trials, think about what you have done in the past to get past these trials or problems. A remembrance is the one of the most important attributes that we can develop. We cant fall if our thoughts are on Christ and his gospel.

Also the big news is that our friend got baptized this week. He is unbelievable. I have never seen such a change in my life. I am so grateful that I saw this progress that the gospel made possible for him. And also for every person if they just except it. I have never ever ever seen a turn around like that. I can honestly say that there is nothing in this entire world that can change us into better people than the gospel. If we follow the commandments and do it with faith and with a desire, the blessings we will receive will be unending. The gospel is love and thats the main attribute to being a good person. Do it with purpose and with faith. Understanding and knowledge is 50 percent of revelation. We have to understand why we are going to church and taking the sacrament before we can feel the spirit and understand the true meaning and get out of it what we are expecting. Because like we know as it says in 2 Nephi 28:30, we can continue to receive revelation as we seek and receive. Anyways I know I am going off on a tangent, just know that we can also make these changes in our lives with the gospel and that the Lord loves us and wants us to become like him. We need to work our entire lives to do this. But its worth it and we will become better than we ever thought possible. Have a good week bye!!!!

6.15.15

okayyyyy. This week was super hectic. We have been working so much with the ward here. Normally it is not like this. But we have been working so hard to go on splits with the home teachers to do less active work and also go by on investigators when we have time to do it. It really has been so successful and I just want to make clear how much better the work goes when it is supported by the members. I have never been so busy and also have I never been so excited nor seen the members so excited for the work haha. So its just good to work together because it brings a really awesome spirit in and helps us to come together.

Something pretty cool about this last week is I found something that I haven't even seen once on my entire mission so far. Reeces chocolate and Code Red mountain dew. I cant explain how happy I am. And even on the same day we found Top Ramen. I seriously cant tell you how many elders have their parents send them these items in the mail because its not here to be found in germany. haha. So that was really a cool experience. Its about the only thing that even compares to german sweets and chocolate. Plus I love Reeces so much so it beats everything. Yeah good. Back to the work elder....

I just want to share a small spiritual thought because I dont have a ton to share for this past week. I was reading in Mormon in the Book of Mormon. And I couldnt believe what Mormon had on his plate for things to do. He literally gave his life to the Lord. We hear that he did do the translation and make the engravings into the Book of Mormon. But do we realize what he was going through as he was getting all of these engravings put together? He was a leader of his army and he didnt just have time to sit around all day and put these plates together AND write about the dealings of his people. He didnt just want to either. I cant imagine it would be easy for anyone to have that much trust in their hands or even the stress that goes into it. The example I want to make this into, is scripture study. Do we take time out of our day to JUST study in the scriptures when its a commandment of god? Does work, school, friends, or anything that distracts us make it easy to not read in the scriptures? I promise you that the commandment that Mormon had in fulfilling the writings of these people and to be the leader of this people is JUST as important as the commandment for us today to read in the scriptures everyday. And you wont know why until you do it. Heavenly Father isnt just going to give us something that isnt going to work. God didnt just have these men go through all these trials and experiences for nothing, to not have it be seen and even hidden behind covers on our shelves. I invite you to make a reading plan, and to start reading the Book of Mormon. You wont find more peace come into your life, than when you apply the teachings in the Book to yourself. Start maybe from Alma to the end and then read nephi to Alma. I know we always start from Nephi but it doesnt have to be. Just pick a place and make sure you do a lap through the BOM. The important thing is that we just read in it and grow a love for the teachings as we follow them. I love you all have a great week. Im sorry it wasnt so much!

I know the Gospel is true and its on the earth again.

I know that you can find out answers to your questions when you pray and read.

I know that eternal progression is possible with the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

 Have an amazing week everyone.

Wooorrkkkkinnnn itttttt uuuuppppp.

Familie,

This last week was really amazing. We had great things happening and still going forward. I cant say that I have ever in my entire life seen such a turn around and step of faith from someone than the guy who we have been teaching lately. He has had a hard time excepting the gospel and not wanting to do most of the things we invited him to do. It came to a point where we just needed to go back to ground 0. We read in the BoM together and we listened to the talk from Jeffery R. Holland safety for the soul. After this appointment I can only say that its possible through the BoM and through prayer and the spirit that someone can come to a conclusion that he wants to turn his life 180 degrees and go in it with full force. I love the gospel and I am so grateful that I can see this change in peoples lives. Its something that we can all do though as members of the church. And it starts with things that are simple, mean most to us, and very important. Such as the BoM and prayer. Nobody can deny the power of God when they feel of his love. And we have it in us to progress without end. Not only can we do that for ourselves, but we can share this joy with others and see the change in them.
D&C 18:10-18

Something maybe that I would like to share from my study is a scripture that we probably all know but is really powerful. Its in 3 Nephi 13:21 and I want to talk about this because I know that we all have things that we treasure in our lives. Whether its the family, work, money, friends, sports, tv, just whatever it may be haha. We all have things that we really care about and its important that our priorities are in order. Because through our priorities we grow a stronger love for the things we do. And through this love brings desires and leads to action. Its also with the gospel. When the gospel is our treasure and the first priority even when we don't want it 100 percent and know how to start with it being our first priority, we will still feel something that is different in our lives that makes us happier. And our hearts will begin to grow a love for the things we do to come closer to Heavenly Father. That's exactly why missionaries at the end of their missions hate going home. At first they don't really know how to work so well and they don't really have the most motivation because they are still new and not sure with everything. BUT when the time comes to go home they are sad because they came so attached to something that makes them happy, feel safe, love and doing good. It grows to be our treasure and apart of our heart. And that's what the gospel does to us when we ONLY apply it. I'm so grateful for the scriptures, prayer, and church meetings. I know it starts with those three principles that will help us understand how this priority can become a light and a treasure to us in our lives. I love you all and hope you can continue to see how the gospel as a priority leads to happiness, joy and peace to overcome all trials and hardships. I mean why would we want joy right??? crazy question.... ;)
