Okay so I am super stoked. Its my last one here in Germany so I hope that I can watch the entire thing in German. I actually know I am... So yeah I am excited for that. I will read the talks afterwards in English. I had a great week this last week. We had some really cool experiences and its been great. A mission really does change a life. Its hard to see right in the moment and time.. But when you look back, you think uhhhhhh what happened to me??? Something cool I really thought you all would enjoy is something my companion told me. We were talking about what happens after the mission and why everyone says and complains that the spirit is much stronger with missionaries than in just normal members... But honestly that doesn't have to be the case. Missionaries work for that. The study and concentration that goes into our lives allows us to feel the spirit the way we do. Just because someone is a "missionary" doesn't mean they suddenly have the spirit more often with them. Heavenly Father will give to us what we give to him. When we work to receive, that's when we get answers. Faith without works is dead. And I have seen that when i WANT the spirit with me, I can do that when I work for it. God only works with us according to our faith. Which in the end is our works. And I know that after the mission I can be just as strong as I am now when I put forth the works. And so can any of you. That's the beauty of the gospel. :)

We taught a school class this last week in English about the restoration and it was wonderful. They were all about 14 and 15. Most of them weren't raised in any kind of religion unless is what just a tradition to be a protestant or a catholic. They really enjoyed it and the lesson went really well actually. The kids were interested and the best part was seeing the teachers face. (she actually invited the missionaries to do this a month ago before we got here) She had no intention to see us again and after the lesson was over she told us that she would like us to visit her again at her home. One could see the spirit working with her and it was such a good feeling.

Any way those were a few thoughts I had to share this week. We are working hard and doing a lot of finding. We are also working out really hard when we have the time to do it. haha. But I have loved serving with Elder Spencer he is great. Thanks for your support and all you do. Keep working hard and pay good attention this week to the things that will be said. They are of eternal worth if we seek to understand, and then to apply. Love you all!

Weekly Email 9.21.15

Hi loving family! So this last week we had a lot to do actually.. Mainly finding and working with members. Honestly... The area I am working in is so gorgeous. I mean its exactly how I pictured Germany coming into the mission. And I finally found the place haha :) But it will be a lot of fun. The accent is extremely different and the people are... kind of different I guess haha. Also here in Erzgebirge its the place where Christmas started and they go pretty crazy at Christmas so I hope I might be blessed to stay and see that haha. The city I am in is called Schwarzenberg and is a tiny city. But its still a good time and there are hills everywhere which I love. I now run like crazy during the week. Luckily My companion Elder Spencer is the best and loves running with me. We are also doing our 6 months to sexy... because that's important. :)

My thought I would love to share today is just from the scriptures. Its another testimony builder how important they are for us in our lives. I have been picking random books to read in the book of Mormon. And Its cool to see that the book I choose is exactly what I need. I just recently finished a lot of Alma. And I moved on to Mosiah. And there its king Benjamin that gets his people together so that he could talk to them and warn them and help them before he would pass away. Not only did I learn of the things he said.. But I saw that Conference is almost the same exact thing. I can also see that preparation is so important. I would have just let the time pass. But its seriously in like two weeks haha. The time will go bye fast and before we know it, it will be over. I also looked on LDS.ORG and on the website there are a lot of things about how we can prepare to be taught and also LEARN and receive personal answers to our questions. King Benjamin said to the people before he started that they shouldn't "trifle" with his words. I thought to myself what he could have meant by that and I know if there isn't a good preparation that we wont get a lot out of it. It says in German that we cant just mess around with what is being said. I invite you to go and study and prepare yourself with questions you want answered. will also help you see of good ways to prepare. I love you all and I know this is so important. The words we will hear are the words of God and the things we need to hear to be truly happy in this life with stress and things of the world all around us. Have a great week. Until next week :)

Schwarzenberg (black mountain) new area translation

Well everyone I have been transferred. I am out of Berlin now after
6 great months. I was able to experience so many miracles and I loved
everyday here in this beautiful city. But now its time for a little
town that is being whitewashed haha. That means two new missionaries
to an area are meeting together and will try to build the program back
up. Its not the easiest but I am excited for what the Lord has in
store for me and Elder Spencer. I am so excited to work with him. He
is in my group and we sat next to each other in the Airplane on the
way here to Germany. I told him as we were flying that we would be
companions. And the entire mission every time we would see each other
we would joke around with it and say it but we weren't way serious
about it haha. Anyway, it ended up happening and we are excited to
work together. Its funny to see Heavenly Fathers sarcasm. Like what
are the chances...? I have 4 transfers left and he just went from
being a zone leader to not having a leadership position and we are
meeting together haha. It shows me that everything happens for a
reason and I am excited for our time.

I don't have a lot of time to write this week but I do want to share

an amazing experience of the power of the spirit from this last week.
I know that being called as a missionary is very holy and one can
experience the help from the Lord extremely through the help of the
Lord through the Holy Ghost. Just as Nephi said how much powerful it
was when he would talk than his writing skills. And its really because
its through the spirit. Messages that we have can be carried to the
hearts of those that are willing to be open to the message. Anyway...
We have an investigator and she is amazing. She LOVES to learn and she
is a vacuum for information. She doesn't stop asking questions... And
the best part is she just accepts everything that we say and doesn't
argue it. She is awesome.. The only hard thing is that its impossible
for one to find out the truth of the gospel with ONLY information. So
the goal was to help her feel the spirit during the lesson. And that
had a lot to do with our part in teaching by the spirit and listening
to promptings. As we taught about the plan of God, she was just
wanting information and as I thought of a scripture that I heard a few
months ago I was able to find it and share it with her. And its in
Mosiah 4:9. We cant understand everything that god does. He is the only
one that knows whats going on and what his plan is for us, and it was
perfect for her. The member gave a powerful testimony after we read
that and then even SHE gave testimony saying how she has felt
something different in her life since she has started meeting with us.
I then was able to testify to her the truth of everything and it was
exactly what she needed. And it goes the same for us. If we listen to
the still small voice, we will be given something small that can
either make a big difference in our own lives or even massive
differences in the lives of others in times of need. I am grateful for
the gospel and I was so grateful to have that experience. GOD STILL
WORKS TODAY!! :)  Schöne Woche wünsche ich euch!

Liebe Grüße

Dresden. Hello beautiful city. :)

Hello Familie und Freunde,

So this last week we had the opportunity to go down to the temple in Freiberg and it was such an amazing experience that we had there. The Temple is being completely rebuilt and even though we could hardly see the outside of the temple, the angel Moroni was sticking out. And the lesson we had with the "temple square" sisters was amazing. I was able to come out of the church building and lesson (that was right next to the temple) with the feeling and trust and excitement that the house of the Lord really is on the earth. The prophet actually invited us to visit the temple more often in our lives and to see the blessings that come from it. And the amazing thing, is that I really saw the blessing not only for me, but for everyone who went and took apart of the trip. On the way back, we also visited the place in Radebeul where President Monson dedicated the land of Germany for the missionary work. It is such an amazing prayer if you all were wondering and wanted to read it! google it maybe ;)
It is a look off into the city Dresden where I served at the start of my mission. It is for sure one of the prettiest cities in the mission.

I know that I don't have a lot to say in this weekly email. The work is going amazing and I have really been able to learn so much from reading the first 34 chapters of Alma in the last few weeks. I really noticed how the Lord works with us specifically through our prayers. I know that maybe most of the time it doesn't seem like its bringing much, but if we had a spiritual experience every single time we prayed, would it still be about faith? No... And that's why I am so grateful for the chance to gain faith through prayer. The prophets testify so strongly of the importance of prayer. Its the faith that allows heavenly father the give himself unto us. "God only shows himself unto men according to their faith". Its amazing because the scripture that describes the feelings of the spirit in Galatians is perfect. If we have a comfortable, peaceful, loving, or anything of good within us, it comes from our Heavenly Father. That was a testimony to me as me and Elder Germann going to contact a referral and a crowd of people were on the street and we didn't know why. A few people pointed in a direction and were yelling at us "the truth faith is that way!!!" We had no idea what they meant by that... hahah. As we came back though from contacting the referral we found that there was a massive parade going through that part of the city. I automatically had feelings of fear and the worst feeling that we needed to just leave or something bad would happen haha. There weren't the best/nicest people in the world there. And in that moment I knew that the spirit is real. We don't even notice it most of the time. And to be able to leave and go down to the underground train and finally feel at peace again was the best feeling ever. I know that prayer can be a spiritual experience if we make it one. I also know that the gift of the Holy Ghost is true and that we can work miracles among ourselves when we trust god with prayer, and ask humbly with a real intent for truth or whatever it may be. Have an amazing week everyone. Love yall.
