Great Week :)

Well, honestly it feels a little bit surreal knowing I have 5 weeks
left on the mission. Of course of course I am feeling a little bit of
trunkyness but it's not holding me back :) There is no better feeling
in the entire world knowing that the next person you talk to on the
street could be the next person you help to accept the most important
message anyone could ever receive. We had such a great experience last
week. We were able to have a conference as missionaries around the
entire world. It was sooooo amazing to be schooled by Apostles and men
who are called of God to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in a simple
and deep way that all can understand and that all can feel the power
of the Holy Ghost that comes from their simple yet powerful
testimonies. They helped us to understand literally what the world
needs right now. And they helped us to be better teachers. It wouldn't
sound surprising if I said the world needs REPENTANCE does it? Sounds
like nothing new haha. But it's one of the most precious truths that
help us to come to get to know the savior and come closer to him.

We talked with people about the gospel of Jesus Christ on the
street. It's seriously the simplest yet most complex subject anyone
could ever study and learn about. Its  the 5 most important steps to
return to God and have a true and lasting joy in our life here on the
earth. 1 faith in Jesus Christ 2 repentance 3 baptism 4 receiving the
Holy Ghost 5 enduring to the end. And so me and my companion decided
to change our approach and talk to everyone about baptism. I can't
even tell you how amazing that was... I don't think I have ever had so
many wonderful conversations on the street with people haha. They were
so open about it because the people here have some sort of connection
to baptism. Most are either Catholic or Protestant and they are
baptized as kids. We ask them, "what does baptism mean to you?" or
"why do you think people get baptized?" and nobody ever knows why. Its
a tradition that has been going on here for YEARS. And it gave us the
perfect opportunity to give our testimonies of Jesus Christ and his
atonement which allows us to leave all the mistakes we have ever made
behind us in the water and come up as a new person. I really am
grateful that I have learned how easy it can be to share the gospel.
There isn't ONE person on this entire planet that doesn't either want to
be LOVED or FORGIVEN. And that is exactly what the gospel of Jesus
Christ allows us to receive. Even being forgiven from someone you
truly love think about the feeling that you get... Now just imagine
that from our Heavenly Father. It truly is a blessing. I love you all
and hope that you can apply the principles of the gospel of Jesus
Christ in your lives. It will make you happier than you can describe
with words. Have a wonderful week!

Cottbus here I come. :)

Liebe Familie und freunde,

Well... 6 weeks left and I'm heading to the city of Cottbus to die.
(It's where my first mission president lives) Gosh the time went
really fast here though and I loved it so much. Elder Spencer and I
really have become good friends and I'll miss him. We had so many
miracles especially in the last two weeks as we followed the teachings
we took out of the scriptures and the promptings we had.

We had some dumb things happen to us hahah but it's okay it turned
out being the best for us. (: good learning experience.... Sooooo we
kinda got the down side of the trade when we found out that I had to
trade the car with other elders in a different area. The car they had
got spray painted on New Years night hahah. But the branch president
here owns a car shop and so we have to trade all the bad cars in and
out of the area. For that, we had to ride our bikes everywhere the
last few days and if you look at the pictures you can only imagine how
fun that had to have been for us haha (:
Especially with the hills here.

Honestly there isn't a lot to share this week. I've still been
studying a lot in the bible and D&C. It is really a blessing to see
side by side all of the restored truths that a person never could have
thought of. But rather, have come through the hand of the Lord to
prophets and apostles whom he has worked through since the beginning
of time with Adam. I'm grateful for the truths and teachings of latter
day apostles and prophets. I listened to both of the talks by
president Monson from this last general conference and I'm not going
to lie, it felt like I was watching them for the first time again. We
are forgetful and need REPETITION. Because repetition brings
conviction. And conviction brings happiness to our souls. Live in
crescendo and give an ear and time to the teachings of the prophets
who reveal to us all the struggles and trials of our latter days, so
that we can do our best avoid them and live in happiness. Indeed, it
is a commandment to follow president Thomas S. Monson. Commandments
bring true and lasting joy when we follow them. I love you all!!

Miracle.

 Dear Family,

Last week we had a really cool experience here in Schwarzenberg. We
have really been trying to concentrate on finding people. And there
was a verse that really caught my eyes last week in the bible. It says
that as Jesus was in his ministry he went every city and village. And
i knew we needed to apply that in our area as well. Every person in a
child of our Heavenly Father and needs to hear from his special plan
that he has for us all. So we went to a city called Stollberg where we
have never gone before. And in the first few hours not a lot happened.
But on our way home, we felt prompted to stop by houses that have
probably never been knocked on by missionaries. And as we followed the
spirit we found a good place to park. And as I asked 'elder Lyon'
which way we should go (I was on exchange with him) he thought behind
us where we parked was the best, and it was exactly what I felt...
Sooo we went there and we literally both just had like a fear that we
were being held back from knocking on these doors.. And the first door
the man let us in. He was on his lunch break and made us tee. Haha. It
was the weirdest thing ever. And to make a long story short.. We were
lead to this man and family of 5 just from the promoting that we had
from one single scripture and the example of Jesus Christ. It showed
me that without the word of God in couldn't be possible to overcome
obstacles in life that are in front of us. And I hope that you all
feel the same strength from the scriptures as you APPLY what you
learn.

Mosiah 1:3-5
And he also taught them concerning the records which were engraven on
the plates of brass, saying: My sons, I would that ye should remember
that were it not for these plates, which contain these records and
these commandments, we must have suffered in ignorance, even at this
present time, not knowing the mysteries of God.
4 For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have
remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children,
except it were for the help of these plates; for he having been taught
in the language of the Egyptians therefore he could read these
engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could
teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of
God, even down to this present time.
5 I say unto you, my sons, were it not for these things, which have
been kept and preserved by the hand of God, that we might read and
understand of his mysteries, and have his commandments always before
our eyes, that even our fathers would have dwindled in unbelief, and
we should have been like unto our brethren, the Lamanites, who know
nothing concerning these things, or even do not believe them when they
are taught them, because of the traditions of their fathers, which are
not correct.

The scriptures teach us correct principles to guide us in our lives
with whatever we may be doing. And I know it testifies strongly of the
importance of prophets and how they lead and guide us. I read the two
talks from President Monson yesterday and I could just feel peace in
my heart. I invite you ALL to study those two talks this week and find
one thing what you can do, to more perfectly follow the servant of the
Lord and the things he says. You will find great joy and peace in the
words from prophets back then, as well as the living that we have
today when you apply the things we are taught!! Have a great week love
you!

Liebe Grüße, Elder Williams

Habe Ich gewonnen?

Last week was just crazy.. We had an eating appointment almost
everyday haha. And yes it was very loud and great for New Years night.
We were obedient but we had an amazing view from our house of all the
fireworks going off EVERYWHERE. Haha. And keep in mind... Czech
Republic us like 25 minutes away so most people had illegal fireworks
that are absolutely beautiful when they fly into the sky and blow up.
;)
It was almost like a show in America except cooler because everyone
had their own and it was just all over the city.

Not to mention, I did win something this week. Haha wooooo! We did a
New Years run in Leipzig. It's about 1 and a half from here with the
car. All the people met there from our zone and another zone. It was
so much fun! It was only for fun but at the end they had a raffle
ticket drawing and I won. There were about 1,000 people there and 15
prizes. But I won a bottle of alcohol that I gave away right after the
picture was taken haha and also some delicious chocolate. Stay healthy
after a New Years run right??? (;

The week was great though and full of spiritual experiences. I'm just
excited that I can continue to work on the big bag of things that I
wanted to do last year and never accomplished it. Often that happens
right? So why just set new goals then? I have a lot I can work on and
better myself at. I am trying to finish the New Testament in the bible
from the very start before I come home. (:
28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will
give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

With everything we have going on in life and with all the goals we set
at the new year.. I know if they are focused on a good and righteous
act that leads us closer to the Savior in any way, that he will let
our struggles of spiritual loads and physical loads light. Our soul is
our physical and spiritual being. And there isn't anything to heavy
that ways us down, that the Lord couldn't make easier for us in our
lives. We just have to go to him and accept his gospel and all areas
of life become lighter.

Have a great week!
